Cinco de Mayo!

May 07, 2015

What a great day to be born! Cinco de Mayo – celebration of chicano culture and community in the US, commemoration of a newly liberated nation's victory over opportunist imperialist colonial aggressors, and day of pretty fun parties for older kids, which we'll probably grow to loath in about 15 years.

It has an added bonus too: for the cosmopolitan young woman, the birthday of "5-5-2015" has the advantage of being interpreted the same way in both India and the US, making the filling out of visa forms that much easier when traveling between the US and India!
